Asian and American leaders have gathered in Peru for the annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum.
The international financial crisis is expected to dominate the agenda. US President George W Bush met privately with his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao ahead of the forum, which is being held in the capital, Lima. Over the weekend, Bush is expected to appeal to APEC's 21 members to endorse the response of the Group of 20 economies to the financial crisis.
